Queen of the South held on to claim a share of the spoils despite Stevie Tosh's red card midway through the second half of a goalless draw with Morton.
It is almost 20 years to the day since Morton last defeated Queen's in the league at Cappielow, and that sorry record was never in danger.
Queen's had a string of chances in a first half they totally dominated with both Stephen Dobbie and Stewart Kean forcing Morton goalkeeper Kevin Cuthbert into excellent saves.
The hosts almost took the lead in the 22nd minute when Kean's clever chip found Tosh unmarked on the left side of the area and his angled drive crashed back off the post.
The game erupted in controversy when Tosh was yellow-carded in the 66th minute for dissent and three minutes later launched another verbal volley at referee Crawford Allan and was sent off.
