Arbroath took a 3-1 victory in a bad tempered promotion battle against nine-man Elgin.
City took the lead when Arbroath defender Jimmy Bishop tried to clear Craig Campbell's cross but instead diverted the ball into his own net.
Tempers flared after 12 minutes following a strong challenge on City striker Darren Shallicker which sparked a 20-man brawl and ended with Elgin skipper Hugh Dickson being red-carded for violent conduct.
Arbroath levelled when Andy Reilly beat the offside trap and calmly fired beyond Allie Ridgers.
And the visitors grabbed the lead on the hour mark when substitute Darren Scott made a great run to the by-line and his low cross was fired home at the far post by Kevin Webster.
Elgin were reduced to nine players when Mark Nicholson was shown a second yellow card for a kick at Scott.
Replacement Paul Watson wrapped up the points with a close range effort.
