East Fife comfortably saw off managerless Dumbarton 2-0 - but left it late to seal their eighth league win in succession without conceding a goal.
Stand-in skipper Greig McDonald powered in a header from a Paul McManus cross to give the Fifers a third-minute lead.
Dumbarton should have levelled though when in the 35th minute Paul McQuilken set up Robert Campbell but he fired his shot wide.
McManus sent a volley inches over the bar in the 48th minute and Robert Linn twice forced Sons keeper, David Crawford into making a couple of great saves.
But with just seven minutes left Jamie McGowan, in his first appearance of the season headed home his first and East Fife's second to win the match.
