Troubled Berwick suffered their sixth successive defeat, twice surrendering the lead in the process of losing 3-2 to Cowdenbeath.
Rangers took the lead after 11 minutes with their first attack of the game when Darren Gribben beat Cowdenbeath goalkeeper Scott Gallacher to the ball and rounded him before scoring.
But Berwick goalkeeper Ryan McGurk was caught napping eight minutes later when John Armstrong headed in following good work by Paul McQuade.
Gribben restored Berwick's advantage after 59 minutes with a first-time volley from a Chris Anderson cross, but the visitors were back on level terms just four minutes later when John Gemmill sprinted clear of the Berwick defence before teeing up team-mate John Dempster who slammed the ball home.
With 15 minutes remaining Cowdenbeath snatched all three points when McQuade hit a low shot from the edge of the penalty box which beat McGurk at the near post.
