Colin McMenamin`s second-half strike was enough to ensure Dundee took away all three points with a 1-0 victory at Queen of the South.
The winner came on the half-hour when Freddie Daquin swept in a ball from the right and Chris Posniak`s shot was parried into the path of McMenamin who slid the ball into the empty net.
The breakthrough was the least Dundee deserved after piling intense pressure on Queen`s goal before the break.
Queens, however, did improve after the goal but never really look like breaching the visiting defence.
The match should have been put to bed in the when Andrew Shinnie shot wide with only the goalkeeper to beat.
