A superb Dyron Daal goal midway through the second half earned Ross County a 1-0 victory in a scrappy match with Partick Thistle at Victoria Park.
Patrick came close in the 25th minute when Stephen McKeown`s cross from the byline was headed behind for a corner by Andy Dowie.
County were unlucky five minutes before the break when Scott Boyd's header was deflected onto the upright and behind for a corner following Richard Brittain's corner.
The home side dominated at the start of the second half and Daal saw a header cleared from under the post by Jags defender Paul Paton.
County took the lead in the 68th minute when Daal scooped the ball into the net from the edge of the 18-yard box following a square ball from Sean Higgins.
Liam Buchanan had a great chance to pull one back for the Jags a couple of minutes later but he headed over the bar from close range.
